I can see the potential in the app. I was able to get a decent amount of info into the program and am excited about it helping me, but it frequently quits when trying to change things. It is not functioning properly and its very frustrating to lose inputed data becuase of the frequent closing. Would give it a higher rating if it didnt keep closing!! Please help/fix!!!!

Basically my only use for this app as of now is having a checklist of my assignments and exams. A lot of features need to be implemented: -There should be DEFAULT kinds of tasks.. And when I add a kind for a course I shouldnt have to add it again for every other course. Adding homework and exam for every course is extremely pointless and a waste of time -Exams should be treated specially and show up on the course calendar. Is that so hard? -Specific times for assignments. If i have something due at a certain time why cant I add that in? -Reminders. Another really simple feature Im shocked you havent implemented 3 versions in… Remind me X days or X hours before something is due. iCal does it -If the app isnt open I dont see the badge for a due assignment which is pretty useless -Overall interface could be a lot nicer and more polished

I really like this app. Its helpful and organized and its easy to navigate around. I just think it could incorporate a few things from iProcrastinate and iStudiez Pro. I would like cloud support for all my devices, an ability to export to iCal, a tab or place to put professor information along with the class and basic information like class location, and a way to attach .doc/.rtf/.pdf documents to tasks because a lot of time in college courses the prompts or assignments are given via email and itd be nice to be able to refer to these IN Schoolhouse. I think the price is a little steep for how little it offers in comparison to other apps like it, but its good regardless. I would give it a full 5 stars if these features were implemented. I would also like to possibly have the option to maximize or pop out the information after selecting a specific task because I oftne copy long texts into the notes describing the assignment and what I need to do and I hate that it only takes up such small portion of the screen. Being able to zoom into that or have it pop and maximize it would be great.

When updated to the new version on Snow Leopard, there a bunch of annoying bugs. Looking for another program.

I own a business and have two young children, so pursuing my 52-credit masters degree is a huge task. I floundered my first semester but after a lot of frustration trying to balance work and family I managed to pass my classes. Then I found Schoolhouse. In the two semesters since I started using it my grades have improved across the board. Quite frankly, I simply dont know if I could go on towards my masters degree without this app. At the beginning of each semester, I "set up" each of my classes in Schoolhouse according to the syllabus. This allows me to focus on the important activities in each class that count toward my final grade. I then populate the weekly folders with the specific tasks I need to perform (reading, listening to lectures, writing papers, etc.). I have set aside two days per week to do school work. I simply log on and open Schoolhouse and go right down my task list with confidence that Ive got everything accounted for. I love this program. I use Schoolhouse on my MacBook Air and hope that they come out with a version soon that syncs across all of my Apple devices (iPhone, iPad).

I would also love an iphone app that uses iCloud

Needs the ability to add instructors info (name, phone, email, etc.) Needs a much larger area to write notes for each assignment. Needs an area to add course materials such as syllabus, ebooks, files, links ect. (been creating a task just to adds these things. kinda annoying). Needs better UI. Please update or if any devs out there want to built a better app and take Schoolhouse to school.

This is a very nice program… It makes being organized very simple. This is very good with courses that give you a syllabus at the beginning of the year with all the assignments and due dates. Like others have said, it does not transfer via iCloud, which is not convenient if you have multiple devices. Also, it moves and loads EXTREMELY slow! I would reccomend this program if you need to be organized, have 1 machine, and know the due dates to your assignments throughout the school year.

This used to be the best app for calculating grades for a college student. Once I updated to lion, the app basically stopped working. Every time I try to add a course, the app crashes and you lose all of your work. I wish it worked like it used to. Anyone know of other apps like this?

The app is great realy helps with keeping up but i need a mobile version touse on my iPhone/ipad. Would be a great addition to the already great software that the only reason i didnt give 5 stars. Come up with a mobile app that syncs across the icloud now that would be stinkin awesome

This program looks to be very promising. I set up my schedule for this coming up semester, but when I tried to "define a kind of task for the course" it crashed on me. Ive tried it numerous times. Other than that the app is top notch. I love being able to keep organized for classes, homework, tests, and the like.

I love this App and have been using it since February 2011. The added ability to calculate my grade is awesome! I just wish there was a way to have this app on my ipad. I am using the Ipad more often since I have electronic books on it and would love to be able to at least access if not input data for this app on the go. Great Job, just needs to be a little more flexible! :)

Ive always used Ical to keep orginized and so I downloaded this to help me better my orginization in school. Everything worked great and I was really excited about the features that it came with. It does everything its descibed to do but now after comparing it to the origanl Schoolhouse, which can be downloaded from their website for $14, I came to realize this app is serously underpowed compared to the other. Tasks cant be assighned as homework, projects, exams or final. Grades are not shown as graphs or an overall chart. Also, you cant add contact information to your classes or location. Overall, for $5 it is not bad. Expected alot better as I a herd alot of good things from this app. I feel a little betrayed it didnt come with all the features. Am hoping for an update soon!!!

i have been using this for a year now. it has many great things like scheduleing, grading and of course assignments. of course it has some flaws like occasional crashing, sometimes sluggish, i would like to give it 4.5 stars for those reasons, but overall still a great app.

This is a really great buy and I wouldnt hesitate to download it, its visually appealing, simple (once you figure it out) to use, and is going to make keeping track of grades and projects way easier. A few things that its missing from the UI that would make it vastly improved are: a) An option to only view from certain hours of the day in the weekly calendar view so that Im not opening my calendar to midnight every time, which is slightly annoying; b) A daily calendar view, and c) Multi-gesture support (specifically to enable the ability to swipe left and right to view different calendar weeks, as is supported by the native iCal app in Lion.) Overall a really great app, nicely laid out, simple to use, with just enough features that its helpful but not overwhelming. I would definitely recommend. :)

This app is the most helpful resource that Ive ever purchased for my education. It lets me keep track of not only all of my assignments (either by individual class or all classes together, and then in either list mode or calendar mode) but it also tracks my grades. Its super-helpful when it comes to knowing which assignments are most pressing as it allows me to set the priority for each one. That, in conjunction with the calendar mode, is the best part of this app because it helps me manage my time with respect to the urgency of each assignment at any given moment. The only thing I could possibly ask for is a matching iOS app.

It looks great, and does a good job at what its supposed to do. However, in todays world, we dont just carry around our Mac. We use our mobile devices as well. I would love a feature (maybe there is one and I havent found it?) to sync with my phone, with push based reminders for assignments. The interface is a bit tricky to learn how to use, and takes quite a bit of time to key everything in, but that is all relative on the class. Overall, for $5 it was a good buy and I have reccommeneded it to plenty of other students.

I just puchased the full version of the app, but everytime I got to add a new weight to a class the application quits. I havent found any bugs from now, and hopping not to. Hope this can become an iPhone app as well. Can you also add a place to put an assignment that we have to complete everyday like a blog?

I love this app! It really is great - I can easily manage all my homework and I would seriously recommend this to ANYONE who is in college right now (I tried to use it in highschool but unless you have a sylabus it is really difficult) but it is a GREAT college app. I would definetly recommond buying it. I do have just one small request for improvement - if you dont exit out completely and then open it again - it doesnt update the dock badge - which is just a smalll smalll issue. It would be really great if you could put in a refresh button of somesort, or have it refresh every day. I personally only use it for homework - becuase the calendar part is a little redundant with ical - I wish I could be synced with iCal that would make it a 10 star app. If you looking for a good online agenda, A great way to manage all your class homework, and a customizable interface………… BUY SCHOOLHOUSE TODAY :) Have fun shopping :)

Great app-keeps track of my tasks, my schedule, my grades. BUT. I am dying for an iPhone/iPad app. Using Wunderkit until one turns up.
