Im adding in my assignments, tests, etc. and the app force closes! Now when I reopen it, only 2 of the 5 assignments I added are there! Please Fix! -Rickesh

Its a great app. Problem is it freezes up my computer and it wont open. So whether or not its a well designed application doesnt matter if it wont work.

I really like this app. it has really helped me. i use it for everything now, not just school, but also personal stuff. I think it would make the app twice as good thought to be able to add stuff to it from my iphone, so that i can add stuff while in class. thank you!

Not sure what others find in this app. Its non intuitive; it doesnt sync to anything. Its just a silly bunch of folders if you ask me.

I own all the college apps for Mac and iOS. Schoolhouse is my favorite. Its simple to use, and puts everything in one view, or I can break it down by class, semester, etc. It is also the only app that can calculate grades accurately, including both extra credit and work not counted (none of the others can handle Extra Credit). However, it is missing the ability to list locations (my school is split up into 5 campuses that are miles apart), and instructor information (itd be nice to be able to email an instructor from the app, or at least look up their phone number or office location). Most annoyingly though, the iCloud sync doesnt work at all. I emailed the developer, and weeks later got a reply, which didnt resolve the issue. Ive emailed back 5 times now over two months, but not a word in response. iCloud sync isnt really a deal breaker for me, but for an app that hasnt been updated in 7 months, I worry about how long Ill be waiting for improvements, or even a bug fix. Its a shame to see this excellent software being ignored, as it really is the one with the most potential.

I have used the trial and i LOVE this app. With that said after I bought this app it would open and has "errors." I am not technology inclined so I am hoping to figure it ou because this app is great for college for sure.

everything works just fine its when you add courses thats the problem. you can only add the name of the course, calculate grades, and use colors and everything but you cant pick what type of class it is or change the class time. at least it doesnt work on my mac.

This was a good app at some point, but then the developer moved on to work for Apple Inc and gave the responsibilities to someone who doesnt know what theyre doing. You can go to their Twitter and read all about their inane ramblings -- Schoolhouse is obviously not a priority for them, and Im sure Logan does not want his name attached anymore. So now we have an app that is behind the times in terms of looks and broken syncing when it was the best thing around before. Its sad. Dont waste your money on this.

Really like this app, but it keeps on crashing! Can we get an update to make it function without bugs?

Ive had to re-enter all my added assignments that I added over the past half an hour. Twice. Very annoying, please fix.

Overall, I really liked the app and how easy it is to use. However, I think there are a few obvious things that could be improved. The main thing I dont like is the way the courses are done. You can add different courses but you cant add any information about them other than class times and start/end dates. These things should be added: 1.) A place to add a teacher and information about them 2.) Classroom number 3.) A place to upload files like a syllabus 4.) A comments section to add anything else you might need I also think you should have the option to choose a daily view of homework instead of just the full month view. That being said, it is a great app and I would definitely reccomend it over the other homework calendars I have tried. Before switching to Schoolhouse, I used iHomework ~ It is probably my second favorite, and also where I got most of the ideas for the changes I talked about above.

Ive recently started using Schoolhouse in conjunction with my iPhone calendar -- the one on my phone is for work hours, appointments, and events only. I deselected every calendar from Schoolhouses preferences and created individual "courses" for all of my college classes. Im sorry I wasnt using this app all along! Its a great way to jot down all of my syllabi assignments and have them easily accessible. I dont designate importance level or priority for anything, I just leave the program in "Tasks" view and see the calendar as a whole (like an assignment sheet). I also like that you can see your completed, crossed-off assignments (which fade to a dull grey) - very satisfying!! Lacking: -I wish there was a way to collapse the "LIBRARY" column (left) and "Task" column (right) so that you could have a simple calendar or list view -I also wish there was a way to make the window translucent so it could sit on your desktop (like Blotter does) -There needs to be an iPhone app to sync with!

I spent 1 1/2 hours entering all my assignmnets last semester and none of it saved. Now I am getting an error each time I open it on both of my computers and it still wont save. Thanks for wasting my time schoolhouse, I guess Ill stick to iStudiez Pro.

The app itself is great but it will take alot of time to get use to and explore its functions, therefore, I recommend getting this app during break. Once you got the hang of it, this app will definitely come in handy if you have alot of homework and projects. However (not sure if this happens to everyone ), Schoolhouse has some weird crashes. Such as when I enter the number of % in the weighted grading bar, for example, homework counts as 15% of my grade, I enter 15%, but when I enter the number and press ok, it crashed. It told me it sent a report to Apple but I highly doubt they will fix it. For that reason I currently do not trust this app and its functions, but if nothing happens do you, then you should be grateful and enjoy.

I love this app. I’ve used it for two years now but ever since the update it’s been crashing randomly and now it’s crashing everytime during startup. Please fix this and I will redo my review.

Ok so i just bought this app for like 5 dollars and now its being stupid. It keeps quitting. I thought it might be because i needed to restart my computer so i did…it still didnt work. Then I realized I had an update so i updated my computer…still didnt work. I am wicked frustrated…ugh.

Update 10/27/14: I still adore this app. But my reason for taking off stars is a major one. Ever since the update to Yosemite, I can’t add any new classes with weighted grading; the app crashes and closes on itself. All my classes have a weighted grade. The courses I’ve added before the update still calculate perfectly. But this app is useless to me unless this is fixed. I will add back the stars once this issue is fixed. I’ve contacted support, so hopefully I will get a response. 2/19/11 I absolutely love this app and the weighted grade scale. Maybe because Im an older full-time college student I really dont see a need for ical intergration and a need for course instructor information. If you need your instructor info, you can just look at your syllabus. Or maybe because the majority of my classes also have a website I can reference that has a syllabus on there as well. I just think it ridiculous to lower an app by a star because there is no place to enter instuctor info when youre just going to delete the classes at the end of the semester. But for entering my classes and the grades and giving me what my grade is during the semester with my weighted scales, it does what its suppose to do. The only thing I would probably try to improve on is a way to guesstimate what your grade will be at the end of the semester. Like a mutiple line graph that shows you what your grades are and what you need to obtain to get a passing or failing grade. But i guess you can always enter numerical information into your different "quiz", "test" , "midterm", "attendance", "finals" areas and figure it out that way.

Spent $5 to find out that every time I try to add a course it crashes. This probably has something to do with the new iOS, but they should have that updated already. Sent in an email, will fix my review if problem is solved.

It worked for me for a semester. Sure, there were some things I couldn’t do without it crashing, like changing the value of an assignment’s weight after having entered it as a task. But I could get past that. Now, however, I can’t enter in any Course Weighted Categories without the program crashing. Look elsewhere for a class management app.

I love this app and have used it during my four years in college. My entire senior year (this semester and last), this app ceased to sync between macs. I use to be able to update my grades, mark off completed assignments, etc, on my laptop and/or my mac and everything would be updated. Now, nothing updates in the cloud. I have to manually update two apps now, one on my laptop and one on my desktop. I contacted the developer months ago with no response. Glad this is my last and easiest semester. This app has been a huge help and I loved it until the syncing stopped. If you only have one computer BUY THIS APP. if you want syncing abilities, wait until they fix it.
